Traveling Passions

I am Samurai. Hajimete o-me ni kakarimasu.

It is hard, especially living in the Bible Belt, to find like-minded, or even open-minded and intelligent women. I am a single Libertarian Agnostic Humanist (I hate labels, but these are the closest I can find), who, having grown up within the Christian church, is still a virgin due to beliefs which I no longer hold. Essentially, reason and facts had won out over my religious upbringing, and though I am not anti-religious nor do I not continue to see the beauty of religion, I can no longer maintain faith in something I know, in my heart, is not there (or, at least, is not within the confines of religious doctrinal description). It took me years of working through depression and confusion to get to where I am now, but I am currently more happy without the confines of religion than I was within. The only problem is that this new freedom of thought comes at social costs. Anyway, more about me: I consider myself Samurai in spirit and I try to hold to the seven tenets of Bushido (rectitude, courage, benevolence, respect, honesty, honor, and loyalty). I also value the teachings of Jesus and Gandhi, especially those of civil disobedience, pacifism, the treatment of both our neighbors and enemies, humility, charity, and I believe that anyone can be like Jesus or Gandhi if they truly wish. I also have an interest in writing, martial arts (Aikido), exploration, books, computer gaming, racquetball, paintball, hiking, camping, walks in the park, stargazing, seeing shapes in clouds, horseback riding, travel, debating about politics and religion, skydiving, theme parks, renaissance faires, tinkering with computers, hanging out with friends at a cafe or bookstore, Psychology (am currently pursuing a degree), Japanese and French languages, and pretty much anything else that is creative and/or original. I pride myself on being able to see beauty in things that others don't see. I am simply looking for someone who is an intelligent, free thinker and has some of the same interests.
